Its almost May and Maryland is about to open back up.
Masks will no longer be required outdoors in Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced. Following recent CDC guidance, vaccinated people no longer require masks outdoors. People who aren’t vaccinated should continue to wear masks.
As of May 5, all restrictions on outdoor dining and standing service outdoors will be lifted. Maryland has now vaccinated nearly 60 percent of residents 18 and older. Montgomery County is still cautious and is not fully opening.
In Virginia, Governor Northam is reviewing the CDC guidelines. Neither DC nor Virginia have updated their outdoor mask requirements. Virginia requires masks outdoors when people are closer than six feet from one another; the District has not yet addressed whether it will lift its outdoor masking mandate. More to come!
